- Welcome to the homepage for David Marrison, the Agriculture & Natural Resource Educator for OSU Extension located in Ashtabula County. OSU Extension has been working in Ashtabula County since 1917. Our mission is to utilize researched based information to conduct educational activities for the agriculture community.

Ashtabula County Agricultural Scholarship Fund
- The Ashtabula County Agricultural Scholarship Fund was founded on April 29, 1952 by a group of prominent countians to promote interest in the study of agriculture, family and consumer science, environmental sciences or natural resources in an accredited full four-year college or an accredited two-year technical institute.

Agri-Culture Newsletter
- The Ashtabula County Agri-Culture newsletter is published quarterly by the Ashtabula County Extension office and focuses on local Extension programs, current updates in each commodity area, and management issues which affect the diversity of agriculture in Ashtabula County.

- There is a growing trend in Ohio Agriculture toward the direct marketing of agricultural products featuring locally grown food products. Consumers are becoming more aware of the benefits of buying local and buying fresh. As the demand for local food products increases so does the interest in growing and producing a variety of agricultural products for these markets. Perhaps this is something you have considered for your small acreage but do not know where to begin. This page is dedicated to helping the new and small farmers of Northeast, Ohio.

Giant Hogweed Resources
- Giant hogweed (Heracleum mantegazzianum) is on the federal and Ohio noxious weed lists making it unlawful to propagate, sell, or transport. Giant Hogweed has been found in numerous locations across Ashtabula County. This plant is a public health issue because of its potential to cause severe skin irritation. This plant causes painful, burning blisters within one to two days of contact.
